Hi There,
In traditional finance, trust is based on institutions.
You trust:
your bank to hold your money
your government to regulate fairly
central banks not to debase your currency
legal systems to enforce contracts
This is called trust in authority.
But history shows that:
banks freeze accounts
governments print money
regulators protect insiders
institutions can fail or abuse power
So crypto introduced a new model:
🔐 Trust in mathematics and code
With Bitcoin or Ethereum, the rules are:
visible
transparent
predictable
unchangeable without consensus
No secrets.
No selective policies.
No insider privileges.
📜 Code removes human discretion
Example:
If a smart contract says:
“Send 1 ETH to Bob when Alice deposits 1 ETH,”
Then that WILL happen.
No one can stop it.
Not the government.
Not the platform.
Not a company.
The protocol enforces the rules.
🧠 Humans vs Protocols
Humans:
can be corrupted
can be biased
can make emotional decisions
can change rules arbitrarily
Code:
executes exactly as written
is neutral
is transparent
treats everyone equally
🧍♂️ Real psychology shift
People today are asking:
Do I trust politicians to protect my money?
Do I trust banks not to collapse?
Do I trust inflation won’t destroy my savings?
Do I trust regulators to be fair?
Or…
Do I trust a decentralised network that:
can’t lie
can’t cheat
can’t inflate
can’t be influenced by power
🔑 Key takeaway
Crypto replaces:
“Trust us.”
with
“Verify for yourself.”
